Glaze, long open time:
all Glaze containers are short filled so you just need to add paint and you'll have the proper mixing ratio which is 3 to 1! Need more open time, you can add more Glaze up to a ratio of 5-6 parts Glaze to paint. The base color paint must be a pearl or semi-gloss finish to allow for ample open time.

My crackle won't crack?
The Crack It medium works on almost any surface and is "sandwiched" between two coats of latex paint. The base color of paint (eggshell finish)   needs to be applied and let dry
completely. If you start applying the Crackle and it beads or creates "fish eyes", then the base paint is too shiny (you can sand it to rough it up) or it is still not dry.
You can simply wipe off the Crackle medium with a damp cloth, then sand it or let dry whichever the case. Once the Crackle medium is applied to the surface it needs to dry for at least   1-2 hours.   If the surface is still soft let it dry longer.

What is a negative technique.....
a very common negative technique is the faux roller where the paint glaze mixture is applied to the wall first using a regular paint roller & brush, then while the paint glaze mixture is still wet, roll the faux finish roller in all directions on the wall to achieve the desired finish. Remember to always keep a wet edge to avoid overlap marks.

I used Natural Deck Oil on my deck last year and I want to do a maintenance coat...
You must use Stain Prep/Mill Glaze Away first, then apply 1 coat of Natural Deck Oil.   Remember, you can apply Natural Deck Oil to a "damp" surface; so once you have applied the Stain Prep, scrubbed the deck, and rinsed it completely off and let it dry for 1-2 hours, then apply the Deck Oil using a brush for best results.

My deck finish is peeling off.....how do I remove it?
Use the universal deck stripper Stripex L to remove all of the existing finish and restore the wood to its' natural beauty. While Stripex L is completely water-based and environmentally friendly, you need to use proper safety ware such as gloves & eye protection.
Be sure to follow the instructions on the label. You can finish your project the same day if you use the Natural Deck Oil water-borne, wet-wood friendly product!
